Allow me to introduce to you our newest member of Commercial Kennel Rescue....

Joey

Joey was rescued from a puppymill in Missouri.  This little Bichon was born on September 21, 2004.  He has lived all of his young life outside - on stone - never knowing what soft grass feels like under his feet.

Well, that's all changing for this little guy!

Joey arrived in Buffalo on August 17th.  He was checked out by our vet the same day, and given a clean bill of health (except for being loaded with mats and in desperate need of a bath!)

We took care of that the next day.  He was terrified of the clippers, but Dawn of Kissable K-9's managed to make him look like a different dog!

Once all the matted fur came off, we were shocked at how thin Joey was.   His fur was very deceiving about his weight.  Needless to say, we have placed Joey on a weight gaining diet, and he will NEVER know what going without food is like ever again!

Joey has gone through so much in his young life, but now he can experience what it's like to be loved and to have a family all his own!

Enjoying the soft cool grass for the first time in his life!

Joey Has Been Adopted !!!

Joey was adopted on September 24th by Bob and Kathy Z. of Grand Island.  Joey also has a new brother Scruffy who also was adopted at the SPCA.

This picture was taken while Joey was at one of his favorite places in the house - right by the window so that he can watch (and bark with Scruffy) at the cars and people that go by.

PEPPER COMES INTO RESCUE!

Pepper, a 1 1/2 year old Black Miniture Poodle came into rescue August 27, 2006.

Pepper came from a breeder that I have been speaking with for a long time.  His breeder kept him, as well as other dogs in cages in the basement as part of her breeding program.  She has dogs in cages outside as well.

Pepper is a little guy who has really blossomed since he's been here.  He loves to go for walks, and to be held.  He is a total lap dog!  He is shy when he first meets someone, but warms up quickly.

Pepper was adopted on October 15th, 2006 by Juan and Elizabeth Andino of Rochester, NY

Russell (Now Tegan) rescued Nov 25th, 2006 at Buckeye Ohio Dog Auction. Adopted by Bart and Kathy C. of S. Buffalo.

Angie was rescued from a local Commercial Kennel in WNY.  She was fostered by Michael and Wendy Donovan who have fallen completely head over heels with her and have adopted her.  They have proudly flunked fostering 101!

Gillian

Gillian has been through some hard times before coming to CKR.  He was a stray in W. Virgina that was shot by arrows (who could do such a thing!) by someone.  He still has scar tissue around his neck from his ordeal.  Gillian was adopted May 11, 2007 by Melissa Dumovich in Rochester, NY.   Way to go Gillian!!! We are so happy for him!  He now has a mom all his own!

This is Nikko,a one year old border collie/ beagle mix that was abused and neglected.

But Nikko has put the past behind him and is ready for the next chapter of his life....  having a family to call all his own!

Nikko has lots of energy! Ready for walks and adventures outside!

He also gets along very well with other dogs as well as other cats.

Nikko Has Found His Forever Home! Nikko was adopted to the Sionolfi Family in Rochester, NY - May 26, 2007.

We are all so happy for him! Way to go Nikko!!!!!!!!!
